You Are a Publisher…I Am a Publisher…We Are All Publishers for Our Companies

When someone asks you what you do for a living, do you tell them you are a publisher? Me neither…I tell them I am a Marketer and business owner.

But in reality, all of us marketers are publishers. Content Marketing and creating content is vital today. There are so many tool and technologies available, that creating content, and lots of it, really is a no-brainer in your marketing plan. Be sure to plan the time and resources to creating content.

Content Marketing is a means to build your brand identity. It can also provide the much-needed information to your sales team that helps them “land a sale”. Maybe it can even help bring sales and marketing together as friends 🙂

Content is no longer just printed materials. It’s online and offline. It’s so many things and can be repurposed in so many ways. Here are many examples of content:

Your marketing plan should include creating content and the time and resources to do so.


The first part of the effort is planning the content and creating the strategy for the content.


Creating the content is the second part of the effort.


The third part is determining your target audience for each piece of content when you are creating it.


And the fourth part is determining how often this piece of content can be used and repurposed and in what channels the can content be used.


Our reach is farther and stronger than ever before. Let’s take advantage of the available modern technology to get our message out. Remember that consumers do a tremendous amount of research before making a purchase or engaging a business. Figure out how your customers want to receive their information, create the content and put it in their perfect format or formats.

And think like a publisher! You are what you publish.
